Is there a problem if we refresh the storage luns and local datastores?

Hi,

I would like to know if we have a problem if we are refreshing storage luns and local datastores or does it help us to keep the instances and drives mapped in an active condition?

IF you are referring to refresh storage there is no issues.

if you referring to rescan storage , there are no issues.

but none of them help to keep drives mapped.

rescan storage is done to discover new devices/LUNs attached -- if any

refresh storage can be used to refresh the capacity info if you have deleted or added new items on the datastore

Then, what is the best way to keep the instances and drives in an active condition always?

Hi,

As long as the data stores are used and LUNs are getting used, otherwise also

there is no manual intervention required to keep them active...

Once configured.. there is no reason why any drive instances would go inactive.. unless you have removed them manually or there are underlying storage issues
