Is my ESXi host at home corrupt?

Hello,

I'm no expert, but have an ESXi host at home.

I'm getting this error lately when ever I try to make any network changes.

I'm using an Intel NUC as my ESXi host with the free 6.7 U3 IOS. It's been fine for months, I've rebooted too. I'm not sure how to reinstall ESXi and keep all my settings, so would not like to do that, but if I have to then I will if I can save the settings (VLANS etc I have).

What log files a can I share, that might help?

Certainly strange, I wonder if it's the USB-C ethernet adapter.

Tried via CLI, but all new to me.

[root@ESXi-1:~] esxcli network vswitch standard add --uplink-name=vusb0 --vswitch-name=vSwitch-pfWAN

Error: Invalid option --uplink-name

Usage: esxcli network vswitch standard add [cmd options]

[root@ESXi-1:~]

Thanks

Does your ESXi belong to a HA-cluster?

Result of "esxcli network nic list" shows there is only one vmnic, is there anymore pNIC existed in your ESXi host?!

Check the vmksummary.log file in the /var/log directory with shell/SSH access, maybe you find a related event or problem ....

Hello,

it‘s just a stand-alone ESXi sever.

Those called vusb0 and vusb1 are also physical nics.  It’s a USB-C thunderbolt adapter for the Intel NUC that I’ve been using that gives me 2 more 1 x GB ports (so 3 in total).
