Traditional VM here refers to linux vm running esxi 6.7 u3 cluster hosts.

Still don't understand. A Linux VM running ESXi? Regardless, some commentary:

Containers usually represent smaller processes or groups of processes that run together. It is possible to run a whole OS but it's not the same as a VM. You wouldn't containerize a whole VM but start building the container anew.
