Intel Server and Slow Boot of ESXi

Intel SC2600GZ Server with an Intel RS3DC040 Raid card.  Both are on the hardware supported list for VMWare 6.5

I have installed 6.5 with no problems, but when I turn the server on, it hangs at Hypervisor recovery screen for about 30 minutes and then takes another 2.5 hours until the boot finishes.

Is there a specific task displayed it is hanging on?

After boot, is there anything in the vmkernal logs that provide some idea what task is causing this?

Do you have any VMs using RDMs? If so have you perennially reserved the RDM LUNs?

Just to eliminate the environment issue (like storage device scanning etc), remove your HBA cables from the host and try to boot and see , this will help us to isolate the issue.
