I have an install of 6.7u1 using the dell customized image in a brand new T440.
Im having some troubles getting ESXI to read the hardware sensors including the RAID controller.
I have the Dell Opoenmanage VIB installed and can see everything Hardware related perfectly fine in openmanage but in ESXI I have tonnes of "intel chipset C620" items with "Cannot report on the current status of this physical element" next to it.
Also listed here is my RAID controller which is actually what im keen to monitor.
Iv spoken with Dell pro support and they think the chipset driver for C620 series is missing but both myself and pro support are unable to actually find a driver for this.
Anybody able to direct me?
Alright i found some stuff, i don't know if this is the root cause or not :
There's conflicts between some VIBs (misc-drivers and native-misc-drivers)
At this point, i would say to check with Dell if it's safe to try to delete both VIBs and re-update sensors to check if there's still an issue or not.
Also i think something is weird because the only dell-vib installed are about Support Information and Idrac only, there's nothing about specific dell material.

Hi,
I spoke to dell and applied an updated dell ISO image of ESXI 6.7 update 1 and I believe those conflicts are now gone however the issue remains.
The driver for the raid controller is definitely working because in Dell openmanage (which is running as a VIB on the ESXI server) can successfully report the correct driver version. I even updated this Raid driver and the updated RAID driver version appeared in openmanage yet ESXI says it "cannot report on the current status of the physical element".
That's weird...
I have had that kind of issues about sensors in HPE Gen10 servers, finally vmware has developped a patch to resolve my issue..
I don't know what to say more except trying to know if the issue remains with ESXi 6.7 U2 ? else working with Dell and VMware support, or opening a ticket, i'm so sorry...
