Hi,
Does VMware not work with Microsoft Nic Team or Link Aggregation to increase network traffic capacity?
Example: Trunk with two 1Gbps link aggregattion link on the same switch for 2Gbps traffic.
If I want better capacity, do I have to change the NIC and my Switch?
Thank you.
"Contingency" isn't the right word here...
You handle link aggregation at the ESXi host level and not the guest level.
Hi,
yes at ESX level, right.
But how does it work?
I know I can create a vSwitch with two 1Gbps NICs and set them as (active / active) at ESX level. Does this guarantee me that all Guest connected to this VMNetowrk will use 2Gbps?
I don't need to configure anything on the switch?
Thank you.
If you go read the documentation on how teaming and uplink policies work, specifically route based on physical nic load (load-based teaming) and LACP/LAG you'll get the idea.
