Increase Data storage capacity

Hello,

ESXI.jpg

We’re running on vSphere web client 6.5 and ESXI 6 and the datastorage only have 23.12GB available.

I’m seeing how to increase this storage and I’m wondering if we can do like mentioned on this link:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8QlkV7PAiM

After adding the disks physically, do we need to do something on the IDRAC/PERC side before this Vmware procedure?

Anyone that already did this?

Thanks in advance!

you just need to add the additional disks on the esxi hosts on which the datastore has been mounted. after that just follow the tutorial as per the shared link VMware vSphere 6.5 | How to Increase / Expand Datastore size in VMware ESXi 6.5 | Tutorial Part 10 -...

You can also create a separate datastore and  move VMs there.

So nothing needs to be done on the PERC/iDRAC side?

The ESXI will detect the disks and allow me to add into existing datastorage?

Thanks in advance!

Have no experience with PERC/iDRAC however, as long as the disk is visible across all the esxi hosts, you can increase the datastore capacity.
