I want to upgrade vCenter from 5.5 U3E to 5.5 U3H and all three vCenter is running in Linked Mode

Hi,

I am planing to upgrade three vCenter from 5.5 U3E to 5.5 U3H and all three vCenter is running in Linked mode.is it necessary to break Linked mode before upgrading vCenter ?

If yes then how to break the linked mode and how to add linked mode again after vCenter upgrade.

Hello,

1. To update vCenter withing the same build you need not break vCenter server.

2. You would have to upgrade the primary SSO and its vCenter first and then the secondary SSO and VC.

Hi

If you are upgrading the Vcenter to the same version there ins no need for breaking the linked  mode.If you have sso and Vcenter server installed machine you can downloadd the latest sio and run the upgrade directly.If sso is installed on a different machine first run the upgrade on the sso and then upgrade the Vcenter.I would recommend taking the snapshot of all the Vcenter servers before the upgrade
