Hi how can you rename objects like Switches and Nics to something a bit more meaningful?   Thanks

Hi,

Yes, you can name and rename the switches anytime. VMs with already enabled with switch will not be effected, it is a seamless online live process.

But coming to NICs, once the host added to vCenter before adding it to any distributed switch rename the NICs and keep them As-Is..
