Vmware vsphere 6.7 ESXI 6.5
I just with the help of you guys setup my first Dswitch.
I migrated all VMs and host to the new Dswitch I called Management and the Port named Primary
Now when I look at my Hosts I see a Distributed Switch listed
The old Virtual Switches are still there and show no network adapters assigned.
But I am unable to remove the virtual switches
When I go to my DataCenter and select Networks I see the old networks listed VM Network and VM Network HA
They both show all the Hosts still listed and the VM Network shows 3 of my 7 VM's listed,
Even tho I migrated all them to the DSwitch
Any ideas on how I can remove the virtual switches? My thoughts are I can not remove them until I get all the hosts and VM off but how do I do that
They all show on the Distributed Switch and Port
Thank yoy
Tom
Ok, that helps. I'd expect the standard vSwitches to disappear once the last snapshot has been deleted. This will also clear the host association.

Such ghost vSwitches and/or portgroups are often caused by VMs with active snapshots that were created while the respective portgroup was still assigned. Once the snapshots are deleted, the port groups should either disapear by themselves, or you should be able to delete them.
André
Yes the 3 vms left are replica VMs from veeam I deleted the snapshots and then the VM Network disappeared from the VM
2 other VMs also are the same.
What about the HOSTs how do I remove them from the VM Networks? Or will they also disappear after all the VMs are off?
Thanks
What about the HOSTs how do I remove them from the VM Networks?
What exactly do you mean? Do you still have VMkernel port groups on standard vSwitches?
Maybe a screen shot will help?
André
From the vcenter
From one of the hosts
from metworks
from ESXI Host
You need more let me know

Yes
After I deleted all the snapshots
I was able to remove the virtual switches from each host.
Thank you for all your help
