How best to size VMs for ESXI host

Using 2 Lenovo Hosts with the following processor spec

Intel® Xeon® Processor E5-2690 v4 (35M Cache, 2.60 GHz) Product Specifications

It is a Lenovo x3650 M5

CPU capacity is 72.77GHz

Memory Capacity is 385GB

Storage is 50TB

Is there  a best way to plan how many VMs will be on each host, there are 56 SQL machines

I see there is a cluster calculator, these two hosts will be on same cluster

vSphere Cluster Sizing Calculator | CloudXC

Just unsure on how best to plan this? Any help gratefully appreciated

Do you have vROps? If not, this would be a great place to start as it has these calculations built-in in a "what will fit" scenario. The fact is, unless you know how these workloads behave and consume resources, it's really just a guess.

Thanks we dont have vROPs deployed yet

All things being equal, the machines have 154 CPUs, 151 sockets and 57 cores p\s with 430GB used

To start with all machines having a similar workload is it straightforward as doing this through RV tools in the meantime?
