Hello everyone,
Since migrating a Debian virtual machine hosting a Mysql application on ESXi 6.5, I am having a CPU usage problem with the Mysql process itself.
Here is the hardware configuration:
Proliant ML350 G9
Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2620 v4 @ 2.10GHz
16GB RAM
2x960GB SSD RAID
Configuration of the virtual machine:
Debian 4 64 bit
8 GB RAM
2 virtual sockets
Network Adapter E1000
I do not know if the problem comes from version 6.5 of ESXi but the problem did not occur on another less powerful server with ESXi 5.5.
Would you have an idea or advices for my problem.
Thank you
I do not see Debian 4 listed in Vmware HCL . See below screen shot
Can you share some details about your previous ESXi host? CPU\RAM\Storage?
As well how did you migrate your VM from old host to a new one? did you vmotion it?
What you need to check first - power management setting on ESXi host. To get stable CPU performance: have the latest BIOS version installed, swtich power management in BIOS to OS control mode and enabel High peformance power management setting on ESXi host.
I decided to install ESXi 5.1 U3 to comply with the compatibility guide.
The virtual machine has been copied with the HP VM Explorer software.
I will tell you if my problem is solved when I have completed the reinstallation.
Best regards
Good morning,
It seems that slowness comes from ssd disks because since I migrated the VM on a 10K SAS raid it's better...
Would you have some configuration tips for SSDs with ESXi?
Best regards
