HP MSA2050 Connectivity to Host

Hi,

I have a new MSA2050 that has two 12gb SAS controllers. In the past I've always used the iSCSI controller either with fibre or SFP+ cables to each host.

Has anyone any experience of using the SAS controllers. Am I right in thinking this wouldn't work? My assumption is that SAS is used for DAS attached servers with no shared storage.

Thanks

in general you can use this as shared storage. The only thing is that you should check the support matrix of the server's sas hba for connectivity to the MSA when the server runs your specific version of vSphere

Hi,

I have connected MSA2040 with SAS cables and I must say that it works very well. I never had problems.

Next you need to configure the two controllers. I had also made a document on how to configure them.

If you want information write me.
