Forcing the vdisk type for a given datastore

I need to create a new VMFS datastore and to force *all* the VMs created, copied or migrated to such datastore to use thick disks (even if the original vdisks are thin).

Is there any property or setting I can use to avoid specifying the format on a per vm basis?
