Fault Tolerance help

I want to use fault tolerance. I have ESXi 6.5. I need information on Fault Tolerance. I think there's a CPU limitation. Is Fault Tolerance 4 vCPU supported true? When I open Fault Tolerance, will there be a loss of performance in virtual machines?

Hi,

Fault Tolerance has 4vCPU limitation. When Fault Tolerance is activated, you may see performance losses on the virtual machine depending on the workload between 10% and 30%. It is also recommended that the network you allocate for fault tolerance be 10gbps.

Fault Tolerance protects against hardware failure only. When Fault Tolerance is activated, the secondary node of the existing virtual machine is created. They constantly replicate among themselves over the network you specify. If the guest virtual OS of the primary virtual machine is down, then the guest virtual OS of the secondary virtual machine becomes down.

Watch out for me, please. Fault Tolerance protects virtual machines against hardware failure only. You can activate Fault Tolerance if you do not want a virtual machine to shut down, even in case of ESXi hardware failure or sudden shutdown.
