Expanding disk while VM is on

Hi,

I have (I think) a simple question:

Is it possible to expand a disk in vSphere while the virtual machine is running?

The disk is a LUN on a storage server.

The disk we want to expand is of our fileserver (windows server 2016)

Is it possible to extend this in diskmanagement after we extended it in vSphere.

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

Bjorn

Hi bjorntenhoeve

Yes, you can extend in disk management after you expand it in vSphere.

This is done through the Windows server manager then disk management.
