Event description for event id 1000 from source vmware virtualcenter server cannot be found

Hi,

we have recently changed the IP addresses of our virtualization infrastructure and unfortunately the Vcenter server ( 5.1) installed on a viral machine does not start and gives the error (event 1000) indicated by the title.

We have verified the IP address file in the vpxd.cfg configuration file, it is correct. I join the vpxd.log file in the hope of helping.

Thanks for your help

Hello,

Checking your vpxd.log I can see:

2018-10-23T16:03:49.992Z [03808 error 'vpxdvpxdMain'] [VpxdMain] Failed to initialize: SSL Exception: Verification parameters:

--> PeerThumbprint: 06:CE:1F:ED:B4:37:14:25:7D:DE:CC:DB:48:6A:E9:EA:0A:F6:9C:3A

--> ExpectedThumbprint:

--> ExpectedPeerName: 10.10.10.86

--> The remote host certificate has these problems:

-->

--> * A certificate in the host's chain is based on an untrusted root.

-->

--> * Host name does not match the subject name(s) in certificate.

2018-10-23T16:03:49.992Z [03808 error 'Default'] Failed to intialize VMware VirtualCenter. Shutting down...

It seems that there is a mismatch on the certificate hence, the VM doesn't start.
