ESXi not fully using all threads

Hello,

I have a ESXi host with two Xeon E5-2699V4, it has 22 cores and 44 threads each, at 2.2GHz.

In the host summery page it show the CPU has 44 CPUs and 88 logical processors, but on the right side it only shows 96.8 GHz available, which is only 44 x 2.2, half of 88 threads.

Is this normal in VMware? Or I need to change some settings to enable the other half 96.8 GHz.

Thank you.

Host capacity is defined as number of cores x nominal frequency, if you want to see utilization, you can do so via the performance charts. Check out the 2nd half here: https://www.vmware.com/vmworld/en/video-library/video-landing.html?sessionid=1620928438392001FVzc
