ESXi Web UI Console Double Keystrokes

When running web console to guests on ESX 6.x hosts with Firefox 57.0.4 (64bit) from my Linux Mint 18.3 Sylvia workstation, I get random double-keystrokes.  This makes the Web UI console unusable.  I have attached an example screenshot.  Is there a fix for this or work arounds using different browsers/plugins?

ranchuab - Hi thanks for replying.  Yes, vmtools are installed and current.  I had thought that too and uninstalled/reinstalled on a few guests however that had no impact on this behavior.  This happens on every guest across all 6.x ESXi hosts.  Doesn't seem to be a problem on any lingering 5.x hosts though.

Hi thank you unsichtbare that helped a lot.  I also found there is the option to right-click and launch remote console that can be opened with VM Workstation/VM Player.  I couldn't understand why I couldn't get the VMRC plugin to work either with any browser and that was becasue I have VMware workstation installed.  It says in the installation docs for VMRC that it can not be installed parallel to vmworkstation OR vmplayer as these both can and do open a remote console and thereby negating my need for the web browser console.
