ESXi 6.7 RDX USB datastore - the device is not listed to add new datastore

Hello to everybody,

I have installed and licensed the VMware vSphere 6.7 Essentials. I added the RDX USB Quickstore drive and it is seen from the virtual machines by the USB device named "Tandberg data RDX". It is OK. I would remove this USB device from the vm devices and add it like a datastore (I need to workaround to some problems with Acronis Backup).

The problem is that into datastore devices list I don't see the USB RDX device, so this means that I cannot add the datastore .

Of course the "USB Tandberg data RDX" is removed from any vm.

Is there somebody that have any suggestions, please?

Thanks in advance.

Ciao!

Michele

USB as datastore is not officially supported, if you want to USB storage on ESXi you need to format it with FAT16 then mount it.
