I have an alert:

Is this simply just upgrading the host ?

Youre 1.5 years late.  The issue cannot be fixed/patched. What VMware did is give you an config option for different behavior of the scheduler to mitigate the issue by the cost of a performance hit. This is the reason why its not enabled by default and you should read https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/55806
