Hi,
For a test i deactivated the passthrough on my PERC H730P controller (Dell PowerEdge R920 server), i restarted my server and i lost datastores, what is happening? Now i can't reactivate the passthrough on my PERC, i tried by editing the esx.conf file but i doesn't work.
Help!!! :smileycry:

I solved my problem by reinstalling ESXi server, with option keep the VMs, i did this and my datastore reappeared, I then recreated the VMs from the files on the datastore, and now everything works perfectly
Hello tafkap
Check ESXi 6.5.0 - Datastore lost
Thank you sir
Hi Prince fan
I dont think that the referenced post will help you.
There we had to deal with physical drive issues.
Editing the esx.conf is already the appropriate idea - unfortunately that is not as straight forward as you assume.
Please have a look here instead:
How to disable ESXi Passthrough my findings
If you think that this approach sounds like a nightmare I have to agree completely - but please look into it anyway.
At the moment I am not aware of any more convenient workaround.

Good - so your original plan to edit esx.conf was spot on.
For an ESXi host with an easy, basic configuration the sledgehammer approach also can be done faster than the scalpel-and-pencil approach using a Linux LiveCD.
