ESXi 6.0 Update 2 Web Interface Won't Connect

I just install ESXi 6.0 update 2 on my server.  The main interface is booted up and has a valid DHCP address.  I tested the management agent on the server by pinging the route, my desktop and an internet URL.  All tests were successful.  I am able to ping the ESXi server from my desktop.  However, when I try to go to the URL listed on the server to manager the host it does two things:

1. Switches the URL from http to https (http://192.168.29.200 -> https://192.168.29.200)

2. Throw errors in IE11, Edge and Chrome (all the latest versions)

Clicking on the proceed to unsecure site does not work in either case.

Edge:

This site is not secure

This might mean that someone’s trying to fool you or steal any info you send to the server. You should close this site immediately.

Error Code: DLG_FLAGS_SEC_CERT_CN_INVALID

Go on to the webpage (Not recommended)

Chrome:

192.168.29.200 didn’t send any data.

Try using the FQDN and accessing https://<FQDN>/ui. Also, out of curiosity, why wouldn't you install at least the latest update of 6.0 rather than the older U2 version?

There is no FQDN.  I am inside my home network on the same router.  I did try the URL with adding the /ui but that did not change the result.

I was not aware there was any newer version to download since the VMWare download page does not show any for me.  Can you provide a URL to the latest downloads?  I know there is a 6.5U2 but I read it has some time restrictions so I did not want to upgrade to that.

Virten has a good article with links to 6.5.

This sounds like an incomplete or corrupt install.  Did you verify the checksum of the ESXi image?  I have had similar issues in the past where I tried to install with an image I didn't verify and it wasn't quite right.  I would do an MD5 sum of the image you downloaded and compare it to the one on the site.

Past that, have you tried using the thick client to connect to the ESXi host?  http://vsphereclient.vmware.com/vsphereclient/4/4/3/7/5/6/6/VMware-viclient-all-6.0.0-4437566.exe

You can also try enabling SSH via the console and seeing if it will let you SSH in as well.

As you can see from my screen shot the option to download 6.5.  I don't know if this is a bug or something done by choice from VMWare.  I would need a direct link to the download if someone can provide one.

I was able to connect using the thick client.  I was able to verify the checksum was a match for the version on their website.

See if you can access it from this link. You'll need to login with a MyVMware account. I don't know why the regular free page doesn't have 6.5 listed yet.

So I upgraded to ESXi 6.5 U1.  The web interface still does not work and now I am greeted with the following error from the vSphere client:

pastedImage_0.png

Apparently this is common because the vSphere client is not the same version as my ESXi server.  However, when looking for the vSphere client 6.5 on the VMWare website I find that they no longer make the client as of version 6.5.  Does anyone know where I can get the support files to connect from 6.0 client?  Any ideas still why the web interface won't work.  I have validated the installers and all connections to the machine work fine just not the web interface.  I can enable SSH to check the file structure but I do not know where to look for the web server files.

UPDATE: So apparently the issue is isolated to my desktop accessing the server.  I am able to get the web interface from my laptop and cell phone which are on the home network.  Still not sure what about my desktop is blocking the access.  It is nearly a fresh install of Windows 10.
