ESXi 5.5 ERROR download FLAT.VMDK file

On a HP server ML350 G6 I have a variety of VMs hosting on ESXi 5.5.

Occasionaly I do I manual download from datastor via Veeam Backup and FastSCP. At the begining all was fine. Then suddenly I could't download one VM (one old WIN2000 server still in production!!). The other day another two VMs joined the first one - there is no way to download flat.vmdk file. Tried with Veeam, WinSCP and directly from datastor browser with vSphere Client. All the times download ends with an error.

Other VMs residing on this same ESXi dowload with no problem. (win srv 2003R2, win srv2012R2, ESET appliance,...)

At the moment the only thing that I think of and the "no go" VMs have in common is that this VMs were virtualized phisical machines. But that doesn't explain why the download was fine on last backup?

I am realy in troble.

Any help realy appreciated.

Sure they are OFF!

For example Veeam error:

All VMs are in the same datastore - there is ony one!

This below is one of the three which is making me mad...

Remove the VM from the vcenter inventory and add back as new vm using existing vmdk.

Can you telnet ESXi host on port 902 & 903 from the client where you are trying to download..?

if yes, try re-creating the vmdk  from ssh of the host ... using the below KB

Already tried somthing similar in this sense:

- removed from inventory

- renamed original folder with SCP with an X at the end

- made e new VM and pointed to the vmdk in original folder

- deleted all files except two vmdk files from renamed original folder

- copied all files from new VM folder to original folder

- added VM to inventory from original folder

VM started. Working normaly. But again after shut down can't do download of flat.vmdk.

And another thing is that, I am not capable to copy flat.vmdk inside Datastore Borowser in vSphere Client of neither 3 VMs which I am not able to download

What happened to flat.vmdks?????

Why some VMs did download and others not, was the big question.

Because of this I suspect that at the botom of all problems there might be some hardware problem on server.

And when you look in right direction...

Discovered errors on RADI 5 array. Sure this was the consequence of hot-swapping fault disk months ago.

Will see if with recreating wmdk I will be able to download vmdks from RAID. If not...

After reparing RAID and repopulating VMs in datastoreI I am sure that this is the answer to the original issue.

Thanks for support.
