ERROR: Failed to create VMFS datastore DISK - Cannot change the host configuration.

Hi,

i reinstalled ESXI and formatted the internal Hard-Drives to Raid 5.

Now when i want add this Datastore i get the following Error message:

Failed to create VMFS datastore DISK - Cannot change the host configuration.

The Disk is also marked as Normal, Degraded (referring to some internet posts its normal for some HP Servers and just a visual error)

The last time i installed it on the same server there where no problem!

What i've done so far:

- Reinstallled ESXI (on external USB Drive)

- Formated the Hard-Drives to Raid 6 (ADG) (last time this server was running with that configuration)

What can i do?

-Chris

I keep a DBAN ISO on a datastore for this purpose.  Create a VM, attach the problematic drive to the VM as a physical RDM, boot from the ISO, nuke the drive.
