Dont see clone in drop down via the vSphere web client connecting to ESXi 6.7

hi

I want to create a clone of my VM running on ESXi 6.7 host, but on right click , i do not see an option to clone the VM . I am running with root user which has Administrator privileges but still not able to see the option to clone the VM. Can someone please help .

There is not a clone option when connecting directly to an ESXi host. For that, you'll either have to use vCenter or perform the task manually from CLI.

Thanks for your prompt response. I am fine doing it with CLI as well if you would help me with the CLIs or point me to the documentation which refers to the CLI.

I am on a 60 day trial and do not have the permission to download the vCenter server actually

But actually i did not understand why cloning and templates are not supported when connecting directly to the ESXi host.

Because cloning is an "orchestrated" action comprised of several different procedures, and that's a task for vCenter.
