Deleting a datastore

Hi there,

I have two datastores which I'm planning to consolidate. I'm at the point where I have almost emptied the second datastore so that I can delete it and then increase the capacity of the first datastore into that space. There are some system type folders in the datastore and I'm wondering what I should do about them i.e.

1. There are two folders...

.naa.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx with a 0.00 KB slotsfile

2. There is one folder...

.sdd.sf which says "This list is empty"

3. Also there is a folder left from one of the VMs which was moved off this datastore. It has the name of the VM and a single 0.01 KB .XML inside it. The file is NameOf TheMovedVM-aux.xml

Any advice on how to deal with these would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Most likely syslog is configured for that datastore:

Changing the setting requires a reboot from memory.

ESXi won't allow you to unmount a datastore if it is use so it is safe to try.

Right-click the datastore to unmount and select Unmount.

After you can delete datastore.
