Data Protection Appliance is not shown in the vSphere Web Client -> vSphere Data Protection dropdown list

Hello,

my Data Protection Appliance is not shown in the vSphere Web Client -> vSphere Data Protection Drop Down list at VDP-Appliance: ......        Connect

Without that, VDP is not useable.

I did a fresh install of VDP 6.1.5 appliance, which should be compatible with my vSphere Center 5.5 (shown in the interoperation matrix).

I restartet the Appliance and the vSphere Center some times, and tried some solutions from the web, but nothing worked until now.

The name of my Appliance is: vSphere Data Protection 6.1

And the notes are: VMware vSphere Data Protection Appliance 6.1

Someone has any idea, how i can get the VDP to work?

At this point in time, you should probably not be doing any new installations of VDP as it has been officially End of Availability for over a year. It's basically a dead product and will not be maintained.

Yes I know, but my old Installation crashed and I have no other replacement product. Is there a VDP replacement product or something that is suggested?

The defacto standard (as well as community favorite) seems to be Veeam.
