  • 1.  Configuring Emulex OneConnect OCe11100 iSCSI Card

    I have a ESXi host running 6.5 and I've just installed an Emulex OneConnect OCe11100 iSCSI adaptor card and I'm having problems getting the Emulex to work.

    I can see the card's two ports in Storage -> Storage Adapters fine. The drivers I have are:

    elx-esx-libelxima.so       12.0.1108.0-03                    ELX VMwareCertified   2018-09-26

    I initially tried configuring it in a similar fashion to a QLogic 1Gb/s ISCSI adapter I've used previously, but that didn't work.

    From the ESXi CLI, I can't PING the iSCSI storage (or anything on the iSCSI LAN)

    Looking at the Storage Adapter's -> Network Settings, I can see it has all zeros for the IP Address, Subnet & Gateway, but the "Edit" button is greyed out.

    Should I be configuring the adapter's IP settings here, or back at the Network -> Physical Adapter side?

    The "Edit" greyed out issue is most likely lack of functionality in the HTML5 interface. Revert back to the flash interface and you will be able to edit the networking.

    I have the same ping issue even after configuring the IP Address. I don't have a gateway as the subnet is not routed but it won't let me enter 0.0.0.0 for the gateway so I entered the same IP as the interface but something is not working at the moment. Could be the storage or anything in between or the gateway is wrong.

    Please use driver version 11.1.196.3, version you used for esxi 6.7.
