Hello. Is there a way to change the time zone on a ESXi host?
I try to generate a certificate for vCenter using my own CA, and when I import the certificate, I get an error. I did not get the error, sorry, but I have read that it could be related with the time zone. The ESXi hosts and vCenter have a different time zone then the CA has.
Best regards!
you cannot set time zone on esxi host. You can either set the time manually or configure NTP server.
You cannot change the timezone of ESXi host
How can i change time zone in esxi 6.7?
You can use NTP, but you cannot change the timezone on ESXi.

Hello.
And thank you for your answers. I have configured the NTP server. And it does work. the strange thing is that in the vsphere client I still see UTC.
In vCenter, it shows the correct time, CEST.
Is this the way it should be?
Yes
Thank you all for your replies!
Best regards!
This is Not the solution! In The Netherlands we are on Winter-Time, now. That is CET. ESXi uses UTC.
No matter which time server I use, my server is still 1 hour behind.
You would think VMWare would have fixed this after so many versions, it's pretty embarrassing...
VMware uses UTC on ESXi.
You time is determined by the OS timezone for guests, and you vSphere client. There is no issue as I am aware.
Are you sure the OS in configured in the correct timezone?
