Change ESXi root password.

Hello Experts,

There is a need to change ESXi root password to the latest one. This ESXi server is manged by vCenter.

I am using the following method to change the password by entering the old password.

Take Remote Board ==> VMware ESXi(DCUI) ==> System Customization ==> Configure Password

Once the password is changed on ESXi server, is it necessary to make any password changes on vCenter to reflect the new password?

Thank you.

No - vCenter Server does not continually use the root password once it is managing the host.

except when you use host profiles - then you must change the password in the profile too

When a Host joins a vCenter than a "vpxa" user is created and this is what vCenter or better the  vpxd is used for managing a Host.

So changing the root pw does not effecting vCenter.
