Cannot change vCenter password for user@domain.com no matter what I put it fails password complexity

Hello,

Has anyone come across this, I cannot change my user@vsphere.local password.

No matter what I put it fails. It always tells me I am not respecting the password complexity. It doesn't matter what I put I can't make it work.

How do I remove it or bypass it temporarily.

Thanks!

To view/edit password policies, log in as an administrator, and go to Administration -> Single Sign-On -> Configuration -> Policies -> Password Policy

I did that.

What do I need to change in there that I can the password to whatever I want. It would seem that no matter what I put I cannot change the password to the user@domain.local account.

What may help is that you post a screenshot of the current settings, and mention the vCenter Server version/build that you are using.
Also clarify for which user you are trying to change the password, because you posted 3 different usernames so far.

When I click on Domain: i select my domain (so mydomain.local)

Then in the drop down below I have First name = Administrator Last name = mydomain.local

I want to change that password.

The machine is domain joined but the password I am using to log on is not the same password as my domain administrator password. So I am just trying to change that password.

Here is a screenshot of my password policy.

What's configured as the default identity source?
If you login using just the username without the domain, it's the default identity source that's used.

I got it!

It seems that the special character I was using wasn't special enough.

Thanks for the help on the 31st!
