Can we host our vCenter 7 under our management vCenter which is vCenter 6.7?

Jump to solution

Hi all,

Our management vCenter -- the one we run all our vCenters under -- is 6.7.  Can we host a new vCenter 7.newest under that?

OR do we need to upgrade the management vCenter to 7.newest first?

Thanks in advance!

-Chris

Hi @chrischrischris ,

Yes, you can deploy vC 7 on ESXi hosts 6.5 and later version or DRS cluster from the inventory of a vCenter Server instance 6.5 or later.

For reference -->(Page 15) vCenter 7.0 installation and setup

Hope that helps
