Can .VMDK size exceeds size of individual Datastore but less than combined size of Datastore Cluster.??

Dear,

My question is Can .VMDK size exceeds size of individual Datastore but less than combined size of Datastore Cluster?.

Scenario:

vsphere 6.5

# of Datastores= 2

size of each datastore= 16TB

# Datastore Cluster= 1

Size of datastore cluster= 32TB (16TB+16TB)

VM=1

size of VMDK= 32TB .?  Is it possible.

Thanks

Nope, this is not feasible. What's feasible is you can create two disks of 16 TB each in the two datastores and create a spanned volume within the guest OS so that the guest OS sees it as a single drive of 32 TB. However as per the best practices, do not use the complete 16 TB for the disk. Keep some free space for the overhead operations.

Please mark the answer as correct or helpful, accordingly.
