Can I install ESXi 6.7 on HP DL360p Gen 8 without UEFI support?

Hi

I am attempting to install ESXi 6.7 on my HP DL360p Gen 8 server. The install is hanging at bnxtroce.v00 just like this thread here:

ESXi 6.7 U1 and U2 install hang at bnxtroce.v00

From what I am reading, this Gen 8 HP is not capable of running the UEFI BIOS so the fix explained in the above thread will not work for me. So I am wondering if it's possible to install ESXi 6.7 on a system that does not run UEFI BIOS? Does anyone have experience doing this?

Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

If this is a production server, gen 8 servers aren't supported, this could be one of the reasons.

It is for dev/test workloads, not production.
