Can AMD S9000 GPU be used for ESXi VM GPU similar to RemoteFX?

    Hi,

I have an S9000 GPU I am thinking about putting in an ESXi box - I checked the HCL and I noticed it is quite old and hasn't been supported for a while (passthrough only circa v6.0)

Even if this card is not officially supported, can it still be used for GPU processing for VMs?  I know it can be used for RemoteFX, is there something similar for ESXi that I could set up so it can be shared among VMs?  I don't need to do any 3D, would just like something to take some of the load off the CPU since my server is only a Xeon E3 1230v2.

Passthrough would be fine, but it can only be used with one VM, correct?  If that's the only way GPU processing for a VM is possible I might consider getting a card with lower power consumption (like an Nvidia GT 1030).

Any help would be much appreciated.  Thank you!
