CD/DVD "edit settings failed" error when trying to select connect at power on

We have a custom roll created from the Virtual machine user (Sample) role for VM console users. We want the users to be able to select/de-select Connect at power on and power on options for the CD/DVD. We have the following settings configured.

Virtual machine

  • Change Configuration
    • Change Settings
    • Change resource
    • Modify device settings
  • Interaction
    • Answer question
    • Configure CD media
    • Configure floppy media
    • Connect devices
    • Console interaction
    • Install VMware Tools
    • Power off
    • Power on
    • Reset
    • Suspend
  • Snapshot management
    • Create snapshot
    • Remove snapshot
    • Rename snapshot
    • Revert to snapshot

Users get the error "edit settings failed". What changes do we need to make to allow the users to power on the CD/DVD?

You must state which VMware product this relates to, it seems to be vSphere?

Please also add the below privileges to the role , Virtual machine > Add or remove device
