Backup - restore solution for one host

Hi ,

I am looking for backup sulution.

I have one server with installed ESXI 6.0  . On which I have 3 VM. We used local sata disks and RAID 1.

I need a solution for backup  in case of a server failure.

Can someone give me a proposal or the best practice for this scenario?

.

It depends what Esxi license are you using. If paid one you can use Veeam Backup free edition for vms.

Hi

Free esxi doesn't have VADP feature. You have to buy any vsphere editions to use backup software.

Alternative method is using vghetto backup script: GitHub - lamw/ghettoVCB: ghettoVCB

Hello,

I'm affraid Veeam needs at least Essentials license, so you can't use that for backup of ESXi free.

I am using Synology Active Backup for Business, because we have Synology NAS.

For backup of just 2 VMs you can use Nakivo Free:
Free VMWare and Hyper-V backup - NAKIVO Free Edition

Or this one is quite popular:
