Alarm for Virtual Machine Low Disk Space

Hi guys,

I have setup an alarm for a specific VM to get an email alert when DIsk Space is less that 5GB.

I am not getting the email when disk space is less than 5GB though.

How do I test that these alarms work.

I have tried making the trigger so that when disk space is less than 40GB but I still get no email.

We are using vSphere 6.7.

Thanks

Hey KonAdams70,

You have no such option in vSphere as far as I am concerned as you cannot see what is the Guest OS actually using. However you can configure alarms to get the remaining space of a Datastore where you can have more than one VM but not for the VMDK individually.

I don’t think vSphere has an alarm for that as it does not see the free disk space of the guest OS.

You would need a script or some tool which has OS-level visibility in order to do that.
