Adding second USB 3.0 device on USB xHCI controller (USB 3.0)!

I've VM with one USB xHCI controller (USB 3.0), an external storage is connected it by USB 3.0 through that which is working good. Now we are trying to add the second USB 3.0 device on the same xHCI controller and it's not possible!!! Is anyone know how to add the second one? thanks

  • I can add a second USB controller (USB 2.0) and then add my device but that's not I want.
  • It's not even possible to change the controller from 2.0 to 3.0 after it's added!

Remove your 2.0 controller and only use the 3.0. Why would you need two different USB controllers? All devices attached can use the USB 3.0 xHCI controller.

That's exactly the problem, with just one (USB 3.0 xHCI) controller is not possible to add the second USB 3.0 device!! so the only reason we add the 2.0 controller was to be able to add the second one!

Then remove all and only have the 2.0 controller.

But we need to have the USB 3.0 speed!

FYI, one solution is to add them to a USB 3.0 hub.

Then, yes, you'll have to use a hub.
