  • 1.  Add Host with trial license to a licensed Vcenter

I'd like to add a new host to my estate for a 30 day Proof of Concept that I need.

I already have a licensed 2 host estate pointing to vcenter. Is it possible to add a 3rd host using the default trial license and add it to the vCenter for 30 days?

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi

You will need to run the ESXi host in evaluation mode and not with the free license.

One of the limitations of the free license if that it cannot be managed by vCenter.

Thank you for your fast response.

So putting the host into evaluation mode will allow me to join the host to my vCenter server for 30 days?

The trial period is 60 days. Entering maintenance mode is not necessary to join a host to vCenter.
