I am new to vSan concept and practice.
I got a question on vSan configuration:
Thanks!
(For reference, I attached two screenshots)
Hi,
vSAN 2 Node cluster would require a vSAN Witness, and that couldn't be installed on the vSAN cluster.
Check the following documentation.
Hth,
Ralf
Thanks Ralf:
* Do you mean that: three-node cluster would not require a witness?
* Can I just add a regular node to make it three-node?
(as I don't know how to setup the witness yet)
Thanks!
Hi Jerry,
vSAN usually requires a minimum of 3 physical nodes, and all nodes must have at least one diskgroup.
A two node vSAN cluster is special, it would require only 2 physical nodes and one Witness (usually a nested ESXi).
The witness usually reside on a third site and is hosted by a regular ESXi Node (as with the .ova you will deploy a VM).
