vSAN Witness deploy on other vsan 2-node cluster

Hi Expert,

I would like to deploy vsan 2-node cluster on 2 sites (Site A and Site B). is it possible if I deploy the witness appliance like this

witness appliance site A deploy on vsan cluster site B

witness appliance site B deploy on vsan cluster site A

Both sites are in the same vCenter

Thanks in advance.

Yep deploy another 3-node vSAN cluster (or simply standalone host) that can run the vSAN witness

Cross Site Witness Support would not be supported in that scenario
More details here from Cormac's blog

Hi Paudieo,

FYI, My plan is not configure it as stretched-cluster. only normal vsan 2node cluster. The topology would be like below

DC

-> vSAN Cluster DC

-->--> Host 1

-->--> Host 2

-->-->--> [VM] vSAN Witness Appliance for vSAN Cluster DRC

-->-->--> [VM] vCenter Company

DRC

-> vSAN Cluster DRC

-->-->  Host 3

-->-->  Host 4

-->-->--> [VM] vSAN Witness Appliance for vSAN Cluster DC

please correct me if im misunderstanding.

2-node vSAN clusters use the same underlying architecture as vSAN stretch cluster so its the same restriction

we call this out here on offical docs

Hi Paudieo,

so based on that docs, I assume I can deploy on another ESXi cluster (let say 3-nodes cluster)? am I right?
