vSAN NIC Teaming

We are in the design phase for vSAN cluster. If I am going to use Active/Active uplinks NIC teaming which is connected to 2 different physical switches. Do I need a VPC link between those physical switches ?

Kindly see the below images

I'm not a network guy, what does VPC do?

If you read this KB, your network should be as simple as possible. vSAN uses the teaming and failover policy that is configured on the backing virtual switch for network redundancy only. vSAN does not use NIC teaming for load balancing:

I think you are looking for LACP. There is more to it. This article will help you. https://www.hydra1303.com/toolbox/lacp-to-be-or-not-to-be-lacp-virtual-and-physical-world/

I was searching for my project here.  But I choose not to go with LACP  as I have chose Dell vSAN Ready nodes but there is no reason not to use.

Many thanks  ,

I preferred to not to go for LACP in the same time I would like to use Active Active NIC teaming Failover with LBT or originating virtual port. Is steel will be need for VPC between the physical switches ( No LACP)

I do not know this sure. LBT or Originating Source is fine at ESXi level.

How does it work with VPC I'm not sure.

So sorry , wish I could further help.

vSohil,

No, you can't configure your switches with VPC when you're using LBT.

Its an issue everyone is experiencing as I'm aware of, since late December. I reached out to a VMWare employee and the VMTN engineers are working on it,. It worked for me briefly on Friday, but stopped soon after.
