Hi,
For a vSAN 2 Node Direct Connect, what is the best practice for cabling on the 10Gb NIC port?
Do we still need a cross over cable or straight cable Cat6 will work fine?
I'm using Dell vSAN Ready node - 2x R440, in Dell's cabling guide it didn't mention a crossover cable.
Please also send a link for documentation.
Thanks.
Jek
You can use a regular CAT6 cable. 1GbE/10Gbe NICs and higher use auto-mdix to configure the network card correctly. So no need any more for a crossover cable.
I was looking for the documentation around this and can't find anything. I have asked for our documentation to be updated and mention that normal cables can be used.
Thank you depping.
