vCenter alerts for vSAN health?

Howdy,

We've been running all flash VxRail clusters for over a year now with a mix of workloads for remote offices and VDI. We're starting to run into more disk related issues that we'd like to get more advanced warning of. VxRail has built in "phone home" AKA SRS that works maybe 50% of time when it comes to detecting problems. This appears due to a disconnect between vCenter vSAN and the underlying h/w layer. We find many problems in vCenter with vSAN that VxRail mgr doesn't even know about unless a disk outright fails.

We had a degraded cache disk this week that was showing extreme latency all of a sudden and caused extreme slowness for many VDI guests.

I've been reviewing vCenter 6.7u2 predefined alerts but can't seem to find any that focus on storage latency/health. Anyone have any suggestions for a way to stay in front of impending storage issues?

Thanks,

Fish
