license for vSAN Robo

may i know if the VC and other management appliances were deployed in the vsan cluster for 2 nodes, would these management VMs also consumed the standard 25 seat license for ROBO. thanks

@slooky, Yes they would - this counts per VM regardless of OS, application or usage.

I would *assume* but am not sure as have not read nor thought about it before, that vSAN FSVMs and vCLS VMs wouldn't count - anyone that knows of this, please confirm.

Correct, vCLS and FS VMs wouldn't count, but vCenter indeed would.

Hi,

vCenter and other management VM's utilize ROBO licenses. Exception are vCLS and FS VMs which not consume licenses.
