if controller doesn't support passthrough

Hi everyone, I have a trouble with a PERC H740P RAID Controller wich does not support the passthrough mode. Do you know if is it possible to try a workaround ... or do I need to replace it?

Hello Luca82

No version of the H740P controller is supported for use with vSAN - don't use this.

If this is a home-lab in which you don't mind instability and/or far more serious issues, then you could try setting this up as you would any RAID0 mode controller (e.g. individual RAID0 'Virtual Drives' for each disk attached and controller set to RAID0 mode).

Hello mschubi,

RAID0 or pass-through - H740P is not supported for use with vSAN, so this doesn't change this fact.

Additionally if you have worked much with vSAN you should be well aware that H730P has had a plethora of issues and is not optimal for use with vSAN.
