duplicate VSAN network label errror

Hi,

When i try to create VMkernel for VSAN, i am getting below network label error. I have the same vswitch/vmkernel name for vMotion but it is not allowing me to do it for vSAN VM kernel....

pastedImage_1.png

and when i keep the diff name then i can see both in port group as below

pastedImage_2.png

small v and capital V

is this expect ? should not it allow the same VSAN label as it is allowing for other VMkernel vMotion switch ?

You can't have two port groups on a single host with the same name. One can be "VSAN" but the other one has to either be "vSAN" or something else. When you create a new vmkernel interface and call it "VSAN" it creates a vmk as well as a port group. Anything else you create cannot have that same name.
