Witness node shows "Cluster role: stopping"

I've been having some issue with a witness node not being able to communicate with both robo nodes. I check the vsan.cluster_info results for the cluster and show the following results on my witness node.

Product: VMware ESXi 6.7.0 build-8169922

  vSAN enabled: yes

  Cluster info:

    Cluster role: stopping

This node has been online for awhile and definitely shouldn't be in a stopping state. I'll probably restart and/or redeploy the node after hours but wanted to check in and see if anyone else has seen this?

That's weird, i just rebooted the witness VM and it still shows the same state.

Hello Ariel,

Is the node participating in the cluster properly and as Witness role?

Check via SSH:

# esxcli vsan cluster get

Potentially it is how cluster_info detects the node state e.g. maybe using clomd or something (clomd is not running on Witnesses by design).
